VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME AND TALENT
Your time is the greatest gift
Your time is the greatest gift of all.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their child — not where they will get their next meal or where they will sleep. Our volunteers remove the stress of everyday life by keeping our Houses beautiful, our kitchens full and our families well cared for. Volunteering with us is an enriching experience not only for our volunteers, but for the thousands of families who walk through our doors.
How often can I volunteer?
There are stages of volunteer engagement depending on your availability, interest and level of commitment. We have so many volunteer opportunities!
Core Volunteers involve a minimum of a 6-month to one-year commitment of a consistent weekly or bi-weekly shift assisting staff with the day-to-day support of the House Programs. Core Volunteers must be of 18 years of age. Click HERE to complete the application. Please note, for service hour requirements, flexible schedule opportunities are encouraged (see below).
Flexible Off-Site Opportunities include volunteering for Special Events, making snack bags, activity kits and Family Room care kits for parents and children. Click HERE for more information and to sign up.
Are there age and group size restrictions to Volunteer?
All off-site opportunities have no limitations, with a few exceptions for Special Events! Many on-site volunteer opportunities have specific age requirements (volunteers in a group must be at least 13 years old to work in our Houses and size limitations apply). Families are welcome to volunteer to prepare a meal or snack altogether with various ages! Core volunteers must be at least 18 years of age.
I want to help, but I’m not sure where I’ll be most useful.
No problem! We serve meals and snacks in all three of our House programs 365 days a year. Please check out these openings by House program (all located on the same block) and the Ronald McDonald Family Room located inside Children’s Mercy Hospital.
