Pop Tab Collection Program
We collect pop tabs to support families with children in the hospital that stay at RMHC-KC or visit the Family Room. Here’s how you can get involved.
WHAT IS THE POP TAB PROGRAM?
Why Pop Tabs?
Advantage Metals, our local recycler, buys the tabs at market rate and makes an additional charitable contribution. They generously donate their pick-up and handling services, so the income from pop tabs is pure profit. Last year, this program brought in $20,000.
Start a pop tab program and count to a million! Ask your friends at school, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, youth groups, sports teams, neighbors, relatives and co-workers to help save tons of tabs. Post your pictures on your organization's social media site and tag us on Facebook, Twitter @rmhckc or Instagram @rmhckc!
- Make your own pop tab collection House!
- Collect pop tabs in zip-lock bags, cardboard boxes, coffee cans or plastic trash bags. (Print out these sheets of labels and place them on quart or gallon zip-lock bags)
Please do not use plastic soda bottles or milk jugs because they’re hard to empty!
We welcome opportunities to make school and public presentations.
To talk to our pop tab head honcho, Alan Lubert, feel free to call 816-842-8321, ext. 118, or email him at firstname.lastname@example.org. And, tons of thanks for everyone who collects pop tabs. You are a "fan-tab-ulous" group of collectors!
