Family Room Policies
- Families and friends of any inpatient child may use the Family Room during their visits to The Children’s Mercy Hospital.
- The Family Room is not available to patients and families/guests of a child receiving outpatient surgery.
- The nursing supervisor determines who will be assigned an overnight bedroom on a nightly basis. Hours of usage are from 7 p.m. to 11 a.m.
- Families of inpatient children may use the bedroom for napping from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Family Room volunteer will assign bedrooms for napping.
- Families of inpatient children may use the laundry or shower facilities. The bedrooms and showers are closed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for cleaning.
