Help Support Families Through Our Pop Tab Program

What Is the Pop Tab Program?

Why Pop Tabs?

Advantage Metals, our local recycler, buys the tabs at market rate and makes an additional charitable contribution. They generously donate their pick-up and handling services, so the income from pop tabs is pure profit.

Next Steps

Interested in starting a pop tab program of your own? Ask your friends at school, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, youth groups, sports teams, neighbors, relatives and co-workers to help save tons of tabs. Post your pictures on your organization’s social media site and tag us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram!

  • Make your own pop tab collection House!
  • Collect pop tabs in zip-lock bags, cardboard boxes, coffee cans or plastic trash bags. (Print out these sheets of labels and place them on quart or gallon zip-lock bags)

Please do not use plastic soda bottles or milk jugs because they’re hard to empty!

We welcome opportunities to make school and public presentations. To talk to our pop tab head honcho, Alan Lubert, feel free to call 816-842-8321, ext. 118, or email him at [email protected]. And, tons of thanks to everyone who collects pop tabs. You make a huge difference!

Don’t stop at pop tabs!

KEYS TO THE HOUSE THAT LOVE BUILT

What happens to the keys I donate?
They will be recycled at Advantage Metals, our participating recycler. The money raised from the recycling project will go to House operations to help the families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City. For FAQs, click here!

What keys do we accept?
We accept loose keys. We do not accept any keys with added plastic coatings. Please remove key rings.

How may we deliver our pop tabs and keys?

Pop tabs may be dropped off in the parking lot next to the Berstein House (2501 Cherry St., Kansas City, Mo. 64108) any day, any time, 24/7. There is a small wooden house; raise the “roof” and empty the tabs into the bins. Please do not put keys and tabs into the same container; separate bags or boxes are important as they are different metals and recycling values. If you have a large number of tabs or keys, email Alan Lubert at [email protected] to arrange a meeting time for the drop-off.
